Following the suddden death of former SHACKOBA Chairman the Late Rtn. Eng. Aloysius Lubowa, who was also the Project Engineer for the SHACK Education Centre, members of the SHACKOBA Executive led by the President Rotarian Apollo Kivumbi have visited the site where the project construction was ongoing. The members were introduced to the new Project Manager, Mr. Collin Wamala who is also from HomeBuilders Limited. The Late Eng. Lubowa was a lead partner at Home Builders Limited and since his demise, HBL Management assigned the project to Mr. Collin Wamala to continue with the work that was being done. Speaking at the site visit, Mr. Wamala thanked SHACKOBA for continuing to trust them with the project despite the passing on of the former engineer. He gave a detailed report of the works that had so far been done, and also guided members at the site on the next phase of action. Mr. Wamala further stressed the need to expedite resumption of works to enable a significant portion of work to be done by June 2022, ahead of the SHACK Centennial Anniversary. The SHACK Education Centre will be unveiled as the Centennial Signature Project come July 2022, and its construction was spearheaded by the St. Henry's College Kitovu Old Boys. The UGX.3.5Billion Project has since then kicked off with works on the foundation almost done. SHACKOBA President Apollo Kivumbi rallied all old boys from across the spectrum to join hands to ensure that the project takes timely shape. This was going to be done under a campaign that they dubbed the SHACK1Billion Campaign that will see 5000 Old Boys each raise 200,000/- within a period of four months starting June-September 2021.
